On second thought, not a very good guard

• Immediately run in a counter-clockwise arc to the right to avoid aggroing any of the enemies. Activate the lever and do any menuing you wish during the animation.
• Walk up to just before the base of the stone ramp and exit to the next room. You should not aggro any enemies through the whole process.
